Hello, as a general practitioner, the working hours and schedules can vary greatly depending on various factors such as the type of doctoral degree held, the place of work, and the specific contract in place. For instance, in my experience working in Iran as a family physician, my schedule consisted of being on duty for 24 hours a day, for 27 days out of the month. During these on-call periods, I was only required to be physically present at the clinic for 8 hours a day, while the remaining on-call hours were dedicated to handling emergency visits as needed, providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions when necessary.
In contrast to this, during my two years working as an emergency physician, my schedule was quite different. I was assigned a total of 7 shifts per month, with each shift lasting 24 hours. In addition to my on-site duties, I also engaged in remote work, which had varying hours depending on the situation and demands. At times, this remote work required only a few hours per week, while other times it amounted to up to 42 hours per week.
It's worth noting that the type of professional contract in place can have a significant impact on working hours and schedules as well. For example, in one hospital where I worked, my compensation was based on specific working hours, and I was assigned only two on-call shifts per month. In another hospital with a different type of contract, my on-call shifts increased to as many as 10 per month.
Ultimately, the answer to your question on a general practitioner's working schedule can greatly vary based on numerous factors. In order to provide you with a more accurate and specific response, I would need more detailed information about the context in question. Please do not hesitate to provide any additional details or requirements, and I'll be more than happy to assist you further.

Hello,
How many years it takes to be a doctor depends on what type of doctor you are referring to learn more about to pursue your career path.
I have a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision. I took 5 yrs to complete my undergraduate degree, 2 yrs for my masters and 7 yrs to complete my PhD. Keep in my personal issues, decision making on my career path, taking time off to get work experience came into play for this to happen. It was not overnight and anything like a PhD where it represented by 2% of the world's population, its not for the faint at heart.
I think identifying what type of doctor you are interested in makes a difference and giving yourself grace that you may have personal things to prioritize before completing a program etc.
Hope this helps.
