Hello Noah, to choose the right career path, consider these steps:
1. Examine your interests, values, and traits by asking yourself questions about what you enjoy learning, your priorities, and your strengths.
2. Reflect on your motivations for working, such as salary, benefits, autonomy, work/life balance, and career growth.
3. Think about your long-term goals, both personal and professional, to understand what it takes to achieve them.
4. Take self-assessment tests to learn more about yourself, but do not rely solely on them for a definitive answer.
5. Explore different sectors, such as private, public, and non-profit, to determine where you would be a strong fit based on your interests and goals.

Talk with different professionals in your sphere including any counselors for guidance. I also recommend the following:
Make yourself a vision board.
Reflect on your motivations. ...
Look for professions of interest with sustainable income and benefits.
Think about your long-term goals. ...
Take different self-assessment tests. ...
Explore industries....
Seek out professional resources. ...
Look for intern opportunities with companies of interest
Don't limit yourself.

For me it came from trying a bunch of different things. In my opinion, it is sometimes easier to figure out what you don't like to do -- i.e. financial planning.
If you are able to do some research in specific areas and then try them out - you can see what aspects you do like and what aspects you don't. I think that will help give you direction into what you want to do in the future and what you don't.
tldr: take on a bunch of opportunities and see what about them you like and don't like! keep going until you find something that combines a lot of things you do like :)

There is no one answer to your questions. The is no one path to a career and for each person - their path the same career is different. So, don't get frustrated if someone cannot give you a blueprint.
As the above persons said - the keys are 1) Your interest 2) Your ability to pursue that interest 3) The opportunities that present themselves to you to pursue your interest 4) Remaining flexible as you learn things along the way and adjusting 1, 2, and 3 above to get to a place you need to be.
One of the things I learned early in my career search is to pursue my gut passions, but realized I don't know what it looks like until I get there and I may have to adjust - and that is exactly what I did (as well as any professional you talk to).
So, can anyone give you the perfect recipe to find your career path - no. But, if you start examining your interest, ability and opportunities - then narrowing down a road to go down to get there is easier to define. I hope that helps.
