Opening a hotel is a challenging endeavor, but passion for customer service is crucial. Understanding the needs and demands of travelers, anticipating their desires, and providing exceptional experiences will set the foundation for success. Creating a clear brand promise that resonates with the target audience will help build a loyal customer base. However, it's essential to consistently exceed expectations, going the extra mile to delight guests and foster positive word-of-mouth, which will ultimately lead to the hotel's success in the competitive hospitality industry. I'm a part of the hospitality industry and it is surely super rewarding! good luck

There are a couple of great books about Mr. Hilton and Mr. Marriott, and what they did to get started in the business. And you can easily find some Bed & Breakfast owners in your town, who can share their stories/ perspectives, too (they face many of the same hospitality challenges).

Most of the folks I know who have opened-up hotels actually started in the hotel business: bell desk, front desk, housekeeping, etc. They advanced in that functional area, and eventually were in charge of others in that area. Along the way, they listed to their co-workers, asked lots of questions, and learned about the rest of the business. Eventually, they were very ready to start one of their own (often buying a property that was struggling or poorly managed, and turning it into something successful)

Hello Vera!
Hope you are doing well.
Well, as for me to own your hotel you need to know all the kitchen staff of hospitality management from the inside.
To begin with, first try to work in the hotel and start from simple position like reception agent for instance. though we have heard the stories when bell boys or someone from laundry service managed their way up to become a professional hotel director.
Besides knowing how business functions you need to know standards of service and operation I mean courtesy tongue used to talk to the guests, code of business ethics, responsible business opportunities to make it prosper and grow in a right direction.
Try to ask your colleagues what do the like in management and what could be changes just to see the differences and exchange competences. Anyway, running your own hotel is a great deal and to make your visitors loyal you have to provide best service and 100% customer related satisfaction.

Hello:

You must have a strong commitment to customer service, when managing or owning a hotel. Hotels are expensive, and important for peoples' leisure time. There is a lot of competition in the hotel industry. This is what you must offer to compete:

(1) Clean rooms where everything is in working order
(2) Easy accessibility to transportation, tourist destinations and road travel
(3) Good amenities, like a good breakfast, a gym, a hot tub, pool, etc
(4) A restaurant, a bar and well-groomed surroundings, including an attractive lobby

This is where you begin.
