I am 15 and not sure where to work. what places hire at 15?

I'm not opposed to talking directly to people but I get shy and anxious at times so preferably not too much speaking.

Hello Kayla!

Some jobs you might want to do that are 'introverted' are dog-walking, gardening, lawn cutting, janitor, or assistant librarian!

- Dog walking: You'll talk to owners when you pick up their dogs, but you're mostly working by yourself! Great if you like animals and being outdoors.

- Gardening: A rather quiet activity. You can talk to the plants if you want (They do seem to enjoy chatting... [1] ) however, you can listen to music or something else on your phone as well! Great if you enjoy flowers or getting your hands dirty.

- Lawn cutting: A rather loud activity, but you're not talking to anyone at all. Lawn mowing is a common job teens have and it can pay well. Great if you're good at cutting grass, or willing to do your best to learn to help others with their homes.

- Janitor: Janitors don't talk much to people at all. Most janitors that I've seen are alone, cleaning areas, and listening to music. You have to be good at tidying up with attention-to-detail and follow directions for handing supplies. It's easy to enter though. Great if you don't mind cleaning.

- Library assistant: The library is one of the most quiet places you can enter. Your main responsibilities are to organize and put back materials. Sometimes, you'll answer questions, but this form of talking is very brief. Great if you love books and/or enjoy arranging objects.

Another option is to work from home (WFH). You can start your own business with a blog or work as a data entry clerk. Here's some information about these two:

- Blogger: https://www.indeed.com/q-Blogger-jobs.html

Some jobs you can apply for, while some allow you to create your own business!

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you consider jobs that match your comfort level.
Sending you good luck with finding work! :)

Babysitting and dog walking are two job opportunities that come to mind (if you enjoy being around kids or dogs). I totally understand the feeling of being shy and anxious when talking to new people. When I first stepped into the working world, I was nervous to be in retail since you constantly need to chat with strangers. Overtime, I found that I grew more self-confidence and really enjoyed people interaction and helping others. Eventually, I worked more jobs in hospitality and had a few different waitressing jobs. I never would have thought I would comfortable enough to do that, but looking back, I wish I started sooner. You learn a lot of great social skills and I was able to overcome a fear I once had. Just sharing my experience - in case that encourages you or someone to step outside of your comfort zone in the future :)
