Are the jobs for CADD Drafters common or in high demand?
I am planning on getting a 2 year degree in CADD Drafting, because it's something I am very interested in, and I would like to know if I would be able to get a job after I get my degree.

You didn't say whether the 2-year degree would be focused on architecture, engineering, machines, etc. For architecture and interior design there is definitely a good job outlook for the next few years for CADD drafters. They want employees who have skill in more than one programs. The most common are AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Revit and Sketchup. It is also very helpful if you know Photoshop.

Hi John,
More companies need 3D modelers to convert their 2D or physical design to 3D for e-commerce. Any of AR/VR application need 3D models to begin with. I know this is a rapid growing field. I will not stop at CAD drafting. Even if you plan to go into manufacturing or design, many modern prototyping and manufacturing process skips 2D.
Good luck!

Hi John,
Passionate people with skills are always in demand.
I recommend starting a portfolio / body of work.
(even as a personal document journal / or public blog)
As something to show others and to remind yourself of your learning / skills history.
There is a difference between
1. showing that you passed a course
and
2. showing that you passed a course and also have a portfolio to projects to show.
Also volunteer where you can to get better skills.
Have fun.
