Hi Jadyn!
This is a great question! There are so many tips/suggestions I could give you but going to list two that I think are vital for everyone.
1. Be a team player and love people big. - I can't tell you how many times in life I have seen the happiest and most successful people carry these traits with them. I am not talking about being successful in money but being successful in life overall. These individuals have great relationships with family, friends, and work colleagues. Its not always easy and some days you may want to quite. However, people who are team players and volunteer to help other individuals have some of the greatest rewards in all of life.
2. Manage your money, save for retirement and set up a monthly budget. - It is incredibly easy to spend the money you earn quickly on all sorts of items. For example, I used to eat out a lot vs. cooking meals at home. I would justify to myself eating out and tell myself, "Well, I have to eat food". That is true that we all need food, but I was wrong in my thinking that it was ok to eat out 4-5 times a week. I also cannot stress enough how important it is to start saving as early as possible for retirement. Personally, I did not start saving for retirement until I was 25. Its crazy the difference 5 years early on in your life can make in saving for retirement. Lastly, make a monthly budget and stick with it. There are many tools/apps that can help you with this. Try to live on the 60/40 rule. Live on 60% of what you make and save the other 40%. The first few months will be hard but if you stick with it each month will become easier.
Good luck on the journey!

This is such a huge question and I genuinely don't think there is a single right answer. Many people have taken very different approaches and there's little alignment between what makes for a better outcome.
One interesting question is "what does better mean to you"... are you interested in being happier or healthier or richer or better-prepared i.e. life having fewer surprises for you.... By the way I don't think that last one is possible - as life can always catch you out with something unexpected, both good and bad surprises!
There was something I heard a long time ago which has helped me... "Enjoy the journey" - it's a really useful approach to help you through both good and tough times - things constantly change and evolve and it's easy to get fixated on goals and to lose sight of enjoying what's happening right now. Nothing wrong with having goals but try not to miss the events, people and circumstances that happen along the way... Sometimes your goals can change and appreciating things as they happen can help you to make the most of everything.
Good luck.
