What are some good ways to save your money early for college?
I want to be a vet and I know I have to attend college for a total of 8 years to achieve this goal. I want to start saving my money, but there is not a lot of income for a teen my age. #college #money

Hi Elizabeth,
Congratulations on thinking about your future and saving up money for it--that is a great first step! I suggest you try to look for paid part-time jobs to get started. If you can find a job that is relevant to your field of choice, i.e. medicine or veterinary-medicine then that is even better since you are getting paid and are able to put some relevant work experience on your resume (which will definitely help you when you start looking for a full-time job after you are done with school).
However, earning money is only one side of this effort. You need to save money along the way to actually achieve your goal of having money to spend for college. One of PwC's initiatives is actually about youth financial-education where we aim to educate the younger generation how to be smart with their finances. Feel free to check out PwC's Earn Your Future curriculum for more details and guidance: https://www.pwc.com/us/en/about-us/corporate-responsibility/commitment-to-youth-education/financial-literacy-curriculum.html
The main takeaway from the tips on how to save more money is either you (1) spend less or you (2) earn more. Generally, it is easier to control the former on your own so most of the tips would expand more on that approach than try to urge you to find higher-paying jobs.
Good luck!
Best regards,
Angelica

Hello Elizabeth,
A tip that I used to save money is to limit eating out at restaurants/ fast food. I learned to cook all my meals for the week and I was surprised by how much money I was able to save. Also, there are scholarships available for teenagers interested in going to college. This website has a list of scholarships you can apply to. https://www.greatschools.org/gk/articles/college-scholarships-for-teens/ .
