Focus on activities that are of greatest interest to you, giving you the opportunity to connect with people who share that interest. College is also a great time to try out new things, with little risk. Intramural sports are a great way to be physically active while meeting others. Don’t limit yourself to formal programs. Invite someone for coffee/tea or a meal or even a walk. You’ve got this!

To be more involved and make the most out of your college experience, here are a few suggestions:
1. Join clubs and organizations: Participate in clubs related to your interests or explore new ones. This allows you to connect with like-minded individuals and engage in activities you enjoy.
2. Attend campus events: Keep an eye on events happening on campus, such as lectures, workshops, performances, or social gatherings. These events provide opportunities to meet new people and expand your horizons.
3. Volunteer or engage in community service: Many colleges have volunteer programs or community service initiatives. Getting involved in these activities not only helps you make a positive impact but also allows you to meet people with similar values.
4. Seek leadership positions: Consider taking on leadership roles in clubs, organizations, or student government. These positions offer opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and deeper engagement with the college community.
5. Build relationships with professors: Attend office hours, actively participate in class discussions, and seek mentorship from professors. Developing meaningful connections with faculty can enhance your learning experience and open doors for research or internship opportunities.
Regarding inclusive clubs, it may vary depending on your college. However, clubs that focus on diversity, inclusion, and social justice often provide an inclusive environment. Examples include multicultural clubs, LGBTQ+ alliances, or organizations promoting women's rights. Additionally, clubs that foster collaboration and support for all members, regardless of background or interests, can be considered inclusive. It's best to explore your college's club directory or attend club fairs to discover the ones that align with your values and goals.

Most colleges offer a wide variety of clubs for your participation. Focus on clubs that offer activities you enjoy and possible growth opportunities for you through volunteering or development. Please invest yourself into the club, the more you participate the more you will get out of it. Again, your college will outline all of the clubs during orientation. Join in and enjoy your time with your new friends.

This depends on your college and opportunities for involvement. If there are not many options for clubs of your interest, identity, affinity, etc. then I recommend reaching out to your student advisor. Typically a college would have an office of Student Affairs or office of Campus Involvement. This office will likely be your go-to spot for how to join, when to join, how much club fees are, and even the resources needed to start your own club.
I found the clubs most engaging to be ones I had a personal connection to. For example, there may be club sports, which are social in nature and not university-sponsored teams. If you love soccer, you may be able to join or start a club soccer team. Finding clubs is a great way to meet people with things in common.

Hi, Saniya!
My college had a specific page on their website that listed all of the college’s clubs. If your college has something similar it is worth a look to get a feel for what you may be interested in. A lot of campuses will also have club fairs where you are able to talk to club members directly to ask any questions you may have, or to figure out exactly what the club’s values may be.
From personal experience I do regret not getting involved sooner with clubs pertaining to my major. I would highly recommend joining a club that reflects what you are majoring in. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the industry that you have chosen, and can be great for networking. Also, try to obtain a position aside from just being a general member if you can. This can look great on resumes! Of course, you don’t need to limit yourself to just one club; join clubs that align with other interests or hobbies you may have. Whatever club(s) you end up choosing, I am sure you will meet plenty of people to help expand your social skills naturally!
