How do I start applying to scholarships for college ?
I am interested in saving up money for college and hopefully investing later. I do not know what college I want to go to but I know one of my career path options may be in the psychological field or pediatrics.

Hey, I encourage you to think about attending a community college and exploring the variety of courses available before moving on to a larger college. During your time at the community college, you can try out psychology classes to discover if it's a subject that truly interests you. Additionally, consider working towards certifications that can boost your career prospects. Wishing you the best of luck!

Hi Catherine,
It's fantastic that you're pursuing college scholarships! When I was in your shoes, I discovered two primary paths to obtain them.
One approach involved the colleges I applied to. During the application process, some colleges might request an essay or application specifically for a scholarship, while others automatically include any scholarships you qualify for in your financial aid package.
The second path was through generous organizations. For instance, I applied and received a scholarship from a local church in my community. My advice would be to explore the charitable groups in your area and check if you're eligible to apply for any of their scholarships. Additionally, you can investigate national charitable organizations and see if you qualify for any of their scholarships (e.g., scholarships for women, business majors, etc).
Wishing you the best of luck with your scholarship applications!

Start researching scholarships you may be eligible for, and get organized! Create a spreadsheet of scholarships you're interested in and create columns for important details such as deadlines, requirements for applying, priority level, and application status (submitted, have you heard back, etc). You may be eligible for certain scholarships based on your location, other things about your background, interest area (perhaps medical or pre-med scholarships since you are interested in pediatrics or psychology).
It's great that you're thinking about this now!
Spend a few hours searching for scholarships that are out there.
Create a spreadsheet of scholarships you may want to apply to, and keep it updated as you submit applications.
Start applying!
