Hi Aden. Applying to college can be very stressful, but it can also be exciting and empowering as you think about what you want and what makes you stand out from others. So if you feel yourself getting anxious about the process, take a deep breath.
You asked if the process is easy. It is in one sense since many colleges and universities take the Common App; for some, that and an application fee are all you need to apply. But, with so many choices, it can be difficult to determine how many to apply to and to choose which ones. It can also be nerve-wracking to wait for the acceptance letters, which can take months. With so much riding on the Common App, it is important to take your time completing it - both the short answers about your activities and the longer essay. Expect to do several drafts and show the drafts to someone you trust.
You also asked about "messing up." If you do your research and are organized, you likely won't miss important deadlines. If you read the directions carefully leave enough time to complete the applications, you likely will not make a big mistake. But, if you do and think it could affect your chance for acceptance, contact the admission office to explain and try to fix it.
Ultimately, you may not get into your first-choice college, but you will still be able to have a great experience in college and after. For many, they end up happy wherever they end up.
Good luck!

Hi Aden,
Going through college applications can sometimes feel overwhelming because of the hard work involved. You might encounter colleges that ask for specific SAT/ACT scores, well-crafted essays, numerous forms, and so on. On top of that, the selectiveness of some schools can add to the pressure of applying. Nevertheless, I urge you to maintain an optimistic attitude while completing your applications and seek assistance from your school's guidance counselors. If any errors occur, remember to stay calm and inform the college about the mistake.
Wishing you the best of luck!

Applying for colleges can be nerve-wracking, especially when you have specific schools in mind or envision yourself at a particular institution. To ease this stress, it's important to prepare and plan ahead, which includes understanding the application process, deadlines, and when to expect feedback. Keep in mind that your ultimate goal is to pursue a specific major or career, and there are probably multiple colleges that can help you achieve this. Being open to various options can also lessen your stress levels.
If you're focused on a single college and encounter any issues, remember that there's always a way to fix them or reapply later. To increase your chances of admission, research the typical entry requirements, such as test scores, grades, and extracurricular activities, for your desired college. This way, you'll be better equipped to succeed and feel more confident during the application process.
