Interior design can be described as architect or of the interior spaces. It has to do
With planning and lay outs- the organization, sizes and relationships of the spaces inside a building (whether it is a house or a hospital or a hotel). Good interior design is like architecture with a focus in the inside of the building. It also includes the lay out and selection of furniture and built ins , the finishes and the lighting and the approach to mechanical, plumbing and electrical distribution inside the space. There are versions of interior design more like decoration where the role of the designer is limited to finishes and furniture. It is a beautiful and creative field that serves a real need. It can be fast paced and corporate, but also very involved and detailed. The more prominent interior design firms are Gensler, Gabellini Associates, M. Moser….many of the larger design firms have interior design studios within the organization to work closely with the architects.

Warisha’s Answer
Interior design is a multifaceted discipline that focuses on creating functional, aesthetically pleasing, and harmonious interior spaces. It involves the art and science of enhancing the interior environment, encompassing factors such as layout, color schemes, furniture selection, lighting, and overall ambiance. Interior designers utilize their creativity, technical skills, and understanding of human psychology to transform spaces into visually appealing and functional areas that cater to the needs and preferences of the occupants. They consider factors like spatial planning, ergonomics, sustainability, and cultural influences to create environments that promote comfort, productivity, and an optimal user experience. By carefully blending elements of design, functionality, and personal style, interior designers bring spaces to life, whether it's in residential, commercial, hospitality, or other built environments.
