If you do something enough times, it becomes a habit. At first it will be hard and then it will become second nature. This applies for everything in life, exercise, work, studying, etc.

There is a lot of free time at university so it can become quite daunting having to motivate yourself. I believe having a good balance of work, extra-curriculum and socialising helps. Having small goals like completing a tutorial sheet by friday helps you to keep on top of work and not overwhelmed for end of year exams and become as successful as you want.

Thank you for your question. This is related to your time management. Firstly, you may find a time management tool that is suitable to you, e.g. your phone calendar, MS Outlook, etc.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Put down the time you need to attend class
2. Assign some time everyday to review the class material, work on assignment / projects, etc. and also prepare for the lecture of next day. If you have any question, seek for tutor's assistance asap.
3. Make sure you have enough rest and do exercise everyday
4. Have revision plan to prepare for exam and assessment early. Practice past paper if available.
5. Form study group with our classmates to prepare for exam and assessment.

It all starts with good scheduling. You'll find yourself having ample free time in college and managing it is a skill you'll develop over time. When it comes to homework and projects I recommend taking it bit by bit. College projects in particular are more elaborate and demanding, so setting up small milestones to tackle each day is a great way to manage your time. The one golden rule for college is to never leave anything for the last minute. Do not try to go for late night cram sessions, last minute essay writing or marathoning a project.

2. Have a healthy circle of friends and family to turn to. Surround yourself with positive people who can motivate you and inspire you.
3. Prioritise your health, eating healthy, sleep 7 hours at a minimum, exercise, self care. You can't be successful if you don't have energy. Neglecting yourself can lead to burn out.
4. Cut out distractions especially when you are nearing exam time.
5. Make studying fun, do study groups! Making friends with people in your course will make you want to go to lectures!
6. Be proactive always, ask teachers, tutors, friends for help when you need it or if you're stuck with a problem or the course material.

Try to surround yourself with people who share a similar drive for success. During my time in university so far, I have found that spending time with people who are driven to achieve good grades like myself has made me feel better when studying and pushed me on to keep working hard!

As mentioned earlier, developing a routine is a great way to do it, and figuring out where, and when you study the best. Having a schedule for that, and getting clear early on what it is you need to know for the exam, and using that to develop a great study plan. =D

Good study habits might depend on your personality. You need to adapt the good habits to your personality and area of expertise.
For example, if you have a tendency to stay awake later in night, it might be a good idea to start studying later in the morning. If you cannot focus for too long, you should use for example the Pomodoro technique. If you are studying math for example, you can study and do exercises while counting the time.
Overall, you should adapt the habits as everyone is more productive in different ways.

My advice is to read your assignment and then make an outline of the material for every assignment. Use those outlines to study. For tests make flash cards from the outlines to study from.
Everytime you write something you have a better memory of it.
I got through with Stanford and Bolt law school doing so top of my classes.
