How do I quit band when I'm in middle school?
I have tried sending an email to my band director, yet he seems not to want to even after I stated in the email that I do not want to take band anymore because it has become something I really don't enjoy as much as I did when I first joined. Should I email our principal? I'm really not sure.

Hello Charlie, that's an excellent question.
Assuming you've decided to leave the music/band class and your parents or guardian support your decision, the most straightforward step you can take is to visit your school's principal's office or the administrative offices. Request a meeting with the registrar, who is responsible for enrolling students in classes. This individual holds the authority to permit you to leave the class and transition into a different one, not your band instructor.
I trust this information is helpful, and I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you for lending me some advice. I'm gonna try this.

Sending an email is so impersonal and generates a negative vibe to someone who loves their craft. Elevate your persona and vibration by speaking one on one with the instructor and escalate to the principle if your conversation with instructor does not bear the results you desire.
Music is not for everybody, but we must never forget, that teachers are humans and not customer service agents that spend all day reading emails and texts. Thy found their passion, while your still looking for yours. What ever direction you take, realize that first days are exciting, but every day after will take work and sacrefice to become an expert.
