How to gain experience related to forensic science?

Shadowing and internship opportunities for forensics is limited because their work is confidential. Any way for me to learn more about forensics? Thanks!

Ricardo’s Answer

Depending upon the specific area of Forensics, photography is a major part of the job. Learning how to use a camera and understanding the various settings and or manual operation is a great asset to have. As a Forensic trainer, those with photography skills went further, deeper, and faster than those who had to learn photography from scratch. Taking Forensic classes, joining Forensic clubs, and going to the law enforcement agencies asking for a tour and or ride along is also A good idea. Volunteering in Any law enforcement capacity is a big plus.
