Local scholarships are key! Google local organizations, local businesses, local institutions offering scholarships.
Think about what makes you unique: are you a first generation college student? Are you a part of the LGBTQ+ community? Are you a women entering the STEM industry? Are you a person of color? Are you an artist or athlete? Etc. Try Googling “Scholarships for _____”, for anything that you feel described you!
Hope this helped, and happy hunting!

There are thousands of scholarships available for students. Believe it or not, not all scholarships are based on your grades. There are scholarships for left-handed people and scholarships based on merit and need. Your counselor and Google can be your best friend in your quest to obtain a scholarship. So, I suggest starting with your counselor first and then Google local scholarships in your intended major.
If you're an athlete, talk to your coach about scholarship opportunities.
Finally, fraternities, sororities, and churches are frequently overlooked when students seek scholarships. Please look for local fraternity and sorority chapters in your area in your Google search.

It depends on what kind of scholarship you are looking for. Being an excellent basketball player does you no good in earning a math scholarship.
You can earn scholarships for many different reasons, and each will have its own unique set of requirements. They can be based on academics, sports, extra-curricular activities, financial need, or many other ways.
If you are in high school, consider talking to your college advisor. They will have a much better idea what's available in your area.
