How do you stay motivated after spending hours upon hours upon hours applying to scholarships with no luck And is there an easier way to get scholarships??

I’ve tried pretty much every scholarship search site (going merry, Fastweb, scholarshippoints, scholarship owl, bold.org, etc) with no luck and I’ve probably applied to at least a couple dozen scholarships with no luck. I applied to and received help from FAFSA but it isn’t enough.

I understand that applying for scholarships can be a time-consuming and challenging process, and it's not uncommon to feel discouraged when you don't see immediate results. Here are some tips to stay motivated and increase your chances of securing scholarships:

Set Realistic Goals: Break down your scholarship search into manageable goals. Rather than focusing solely on the number of scholarships applied to, set targets for the quality of applications you submit and the effort you put into each one.

Diversify Your Applications: Apply to various scholarships that align with your interests, skills, and background. Look for local, national, and international opportunities to expand your chances.

Personalize Your Applications: Tailor each application to the specific scholarship requirements. Highlight your achievements, experiences, and aspirations to demonstrate that you are an ideal candidate.

Stay Organized: Keep track of deadlines, requirements, and application progress to avoid missing opportunities and ensure timely submissions.

Seek Support and Feedback: Ask teachers, mentors, or family members to review your scholarship essays and applications. Their feedback can help you refine your submissions.

Stay Positive and Resilient: Understand that rejections are part of the process, and they do not define your worth or potential. Stay positive and use rejection as an opportunity to learn and improve.

Utilize Online Resources: Explore scholarship databases, websites, and platforms that match you with relevant opportunities. These resources can streamline your search and make the process more efficient.

Apply for Local Scholarships: Often, local scholarships have fewer applicants, increasing your chances of success. Check with community organizations, businesses, and schools in your area.

Consider Unconventional Scholarships: Look for scholarships that are less competitive, such as those tailored to unique hobbies, interests, or affiliations.

Stay Persistent: Scholarship hunting requires perseverance. Don't give up, and keep applying to relevant opportunities. Remember that even one successful application can make a significant difference in funding your education.

While there's no guaranteed easy way to secure scholarships, following these tips can make the process more effective and increase your chances of success. Remember that every effort you put into your scholarship applications is an investment in your future, and staying motivated and resilient will eventually lead to positive outcomes.

Local scholarships are key! Google local organizations, local businesses, local institutions offering scholarships.

Think about what makes you unique: are you a first generation college student? Are you a part of the LGBTQ+ community? Are you a women entering the STEM industry? Are you a person of color? Are you an artist or athlete? Etc. Try Googling “Scholarships for _____”, for anything that you feel described you!

Hope this helped, and happy hunting!
