Jonathan!
How you doing sir.
Becoming a welder, what a great question. I could write a novel about what lead me to welding to where I am now in my career. 23 years later. I can only speak for myself, as millions of other welders out in the world have their own story to tell. Your first going to have to tell yourself, this is it, as if you had falling in love with something. I promise you, welding brings dedication, pain, love and heartbreak. As well as GREAT Money, once you master it's complexity. It can take you everywhere in the world, or it can take you nowhere. It's all up to YOU. Knowledge is power, So, never stop learning, especially in welding.
Not sure how old you are, but start as young as possible. I was 17 in trade school. I was very fortunate to have been in the trade school I was. I was actually paid to be there. I was at Job Corps. There is also local Unions that pay you to learn your craft.
This craft isn't just a job, its a way of life. You will have the knowledge to fix just about anything. It makes You a better You!.
Take Care Buddy!
