Hello Umima,
To write a perfect essay this is what you have to do:
Step 1: Understanding the Prompt:
Read and understand the prompt of the essay and also do a little research on the essay prompt. This will give you a good idea on how to start and title your essay and you will have many sources and citations to choose on further more.
Step 2: Starting the Essay:
Use MLA, APA or other formats that the professor requests to start off your essay. You need to write an intro paragraph, 3 to 4 body paragraphs and then a conclusion paragraph.
Step.3: Quotes for your Argument:
Use quotes in your essay paragraphs because this will help support your argument in your essay. After that then create a work cited page which will be used for your citations.
Step 4: Proof-Read and Editng:
After you have completed your essay you will have to proof read your essay and edit any grammar errors you have noticed. If you need to use your school or college resources to help you on your essay that will be great. Example: I was using the Reading and Writing Center at Long Beach City College to help me on many on my essays.
With all these steps you can write a perfect essay.

Writing a good essay in college or in general is quite a challenging task. While that may be the case, here are some helpful tips to keep in mind:
1. Define the question or intent of the essay
- Know what's being asked of you. Is your Professor asking for a position paper (for or against a certain topic), is it a research paper? reaction paper? etc. This is also the spot where you could start drafting your thesis statement.
2. Research on the topic
- Conduct research about that certain topic. Try to look at multiple sources and if possible different angles if it pertains to societal topic i.e. politics, race relations etc. Never use Wikipedia when researching, this isn't a credible source. While that may be the case you could still use it as a jumping off point.
3. Organize your thoughts
- After researching, write down your thoughts as well as facts that support your thesis statement.
4. Proof read
- When all is said and done, before submitting make sure to proofread your essay at least twice. If you're able, make someone else read it and critique it. Another option would be to go to a website or app like Grammarly.
Hope this helps!

Hello Umima!
If you give me the question being asked I can maybe give more specific support.
When writing your college essay you want to show what makes you unique. Think of specific examples to the question.
I highly suggest asking a teacher, counselor, or college advisor to read your essay and help you to tell your story.
I hope this helps!
