How do you know if your being recruited and when should you be recruited to play division 1 athletics?

At what age do colleges start recruiting? Being an undersized guard what are some of the skills needed to make it to the division 1 level ? How do I put my self in the best position possible to get recruited?

Thank you comment icon Hi Mac! I referred your question to someone who also played guard (mostly point guard) and, at the time, was aiming to get to a D1 school for basketball. Hopefully, you'll get another answer soon! I also played basketball in high school but was average haha. BUT I would say that you should also focus on your education and/or career outside of basketball. You never know what could happen! Even if you make it to the NBA one day, you'll retire and need to continue providing for yourself and family. Stay focused on basketball but make sure to explore other avenues as well! yoonji KIM, Admin

I am not, and have never been a college athlete.

I do know that recruiting is pretty much governed by the NCAA. I'd suggest you mouse around on their website (https://www.ncaa.org/) and see what they have to say. It's always better to get your information from a primary source when you can.
