Hello Azalea!
While college can be a daunting task and even more so if you are in a tough financial situation. It is too early to give up on dreams of being in the medical field. There are scholarship opportunities and programs both on a state and federal level that can assist with alleviating financial burdens. A great first step for you or anyone reading this is to get in to contact with your counselor for advice or insight into what programs or scholarship opportunities could be available to you right now.

Good for you wanting to work in the medical field! One of the biggest bargains in college education is the overlooked community college alternative. It usually costs much less and lets you get a feel for what really interests you. After you get the associate's degree you can then look to finish your degree at a 4 year school but only have to pay for 2 more years of tuition. As Chris points out above, there are many scholarships that can be applied for and there are numerous websites you can access to try to find them. Also, the medical field is quite broad and not all areas require a college degree. For example, being a medical assistant or a receptionist in a doctor's office. I suggest you discuss this with the guidance counsellor at your school. Good luck.
