I Have 10 Questions for Electronics Engineers

I have these 10 interview questions to ask current or retired Electronics Engineers, please answer some if you want, it does not have to be all. Any that are answered will be greatly appreciated.

1) What does Electronics Engineering mean to you?

2) When did you have a communication challenge in your work and how did you resolve it?

3) How do you prioritize your work when you have several projects you are working on?

4) How do you ensure accuracy in your work?

5) Tell me of a situation in which you had to deal with conflict on the job. How did you handle it?

6) What kind of goals did you have when you were hired?

7) Were you able to do things that other candidates couldn’t? If so what?

8) Tell me about your involvement in the last project you worked on?

9) How did you discover the company you work for?

10) Tell me about a time you had to give someone difficult feedback.

Thank you comment icon Jeremiah, If I may offer a suggestion to improve results for you on this forum, I would suggest that you think of the one question that you would like to ask an electronics engineer that would influence your decision toward that career. Many of your questions would be appropriate if you were hiring an engineer, but I doubt that is your intent. Good luck in your pursuits. david kirk

Hi,

I would suggest you ask individual questions. It would make them easier to answer.

Coming to the questions:

1) What does Electronics Engineering mean to you?
- I was interested in working in Electronics Engineering area before my engineering. During engineering, I got interested in Programming and became software engineer.

2) When did you have a communication challenge in your work and how did you resolve it?
- I never had any communication challenge and it easily be mitigated with a good communication strategy and being open to feedback. Keep your communication professional.

3) How do you prioritize your work when you have several projects you are working on?
- I'm a long time user of The Eisenhower Matrix, it helps me prioritize and classify tasks. In case of multiple projects, I keep my supervisor informed of all projects and update all stakeholders regularly on status.

4) How do you ensure accuracy in your work?
- Self Review, Peer Review and retrospectives.

5) Tell me of a situation in which you had to deal with conflict on the job. How did you handle it?
- A healthy conflict is needed to get things moving in right direction. So, there has been various conflicts. Handling conflicts depends on situation.
You need to understand the cooperativeness and assertiveness of involved parties. Best way is to solve it collaboratively.

6) What kind of goals did you have when you were hired?
- I started my career with an intent to learn and it is still the same,

7) Were you able to do things that other candidates couldn’t? If so what?
- Yes, I was good with programming and coming up with logics.

8) Tell me about your involvement in the last project you worked on?
- I oversee testing of some financial reports. Can't disclose much due to Non Disclosure Agreement. :D

9) How did you discover the company you work for?
- IBM is a known brand, still to start with I heard about it from my campus recruitment team.

10) Tell me about a time you had to give someone difficult feedback.
- There have been various, so my suggestion is do include some positive feedback. Try to use "And if" instead of "But"
