When making our own content or projects, you will want to find your "voice/ style". This comes from practice as well as emulating others "art/work". I would research others that do what you want to do, watch their channels, make notes on things you like, things that seem consistent between contributors and things that you don't like.
Once you know this then it will be time to try to do it yourself. You will need to research tools and other factors that go into making content. Things from Microphones, to cameras to computers and consoles.
I would also recommend reaching out and trying to make content with others that do this for a living. Ask questions, what challenges they face and how they overcome them. Many of these "youtubers" actually have a team, that includes writers, producers, editors or partners - so they don't do it alone. You may find that you meet someone that shares your passion that you can work with together making the process more colibrative and would open other doors that might remain closed if you were to only do it yourself.
You would also benefit from some business classes, learning how to market your content/ product, manage websites, use metrics, advertise and monetize your platform. There will be some resources online that you can benefit from, and again, talking to others that do this for a living can help point you in the right direction to help educate yourself. There will be investment in equipment, the games and platform support (ability to record, edit and distribute). So you will need investors or capital to put into things upfront, then the business classes you took will come into play to help recoup those costs and start to make a profit/ living.

Success rarely happens over night. Being consistent with your efforts over time will eventually yield results.
Look at what others are doing in the space and if there are any commonalities. It’s ok to not reinvent the wheel. I’d also offer that you should follow trends. Some games are more popular than others, so you’ll want to be authentic, but also give people what they are interested in.

Love the answers already provided, and I just wanted to add: be careful to not burn yourself out! Your inner artists needs love and care just like you, and if you push them too hard they will get tired and not want to create as much anymore. Find a pace that fits your lifestyle best! Not every video needs to be done immediately!

My best advice to stay consistent is do a research on what you enjoy doing, and cross check whether or not YouTube is the channel for doing what you like to do. Unless you really dig deep down and really make a list of what you enjoy doing, you will easily get tired and bored of working and pleasing your audience, worse, you think you studied the market and know what people want to see, but ended up not getting any views because there are too many people doing the same thing. Making videos for your YouTube channel is hard work, unless you really enjoy what you're doing, you'll easily get tired of the process.
