The journey to becoming an industrial therapist is an exciting one! Usually, those who embark on this path major in psychology and immerse themselves in fascinating courses like social psychology, statistics, research methodology, and psychological principles. To tailor your educational journey more precisely, don't hesitate to chat with your program advisor at your chosen college. They can help you identify the prerequisite courses you can take as an undergraduate.

This not only provides you with more focused guidance, but it can also save you both time and money. Remember, every step you take brings you closer to your goal. Keep going, you're doing great! Best of luck to you!

Hi Dakota,

For Industrial Psychology, the main college courses that one will have to take will be Psychological Principles, Social Psychology, Statistics, Industrial and Organizational Behavior, Human Factors, Ergonomics and Research Methodology. There will be additional courses pertaining to the major and will be dependent upon the college and/or university that is attended as well as the requirements from the Industrial Psychology Department.

According to U.S. News & World Report, here are the top colleges and universities to consider for Industrial Psychology:

- University of South Florida
- George Mason University
- Pennsylvania State University - University Park

When reviewing colleges and universities, it is best to check the following:

There are scholarships based on need, academic performance, school activities, sports involvement and community service. So, it will be to your advantage to seek out these types of scholarships. All of the academic staff at your high school that you interact with can write letters of recommendations for you based on what was just stated above. These recommendations can greatly help when filling out college and scholarship applications.

Hope this helps and best wishes for your education and career in Industrial Psychology!
