Hi Hailey,

While I'm not an Interior Decorator, I imagine going into that field would be incredibly wonderful! You get to use your imagination and then put it into action, how great that and designing houses would be. What I like to do is go into a house that's for sale when it is on display for all to see - it's called an open house. Most of the time there is no furniture in the house so the potential buyers can imagine how they would like to decorate. But even the best decorators need professional advice. You could also work with architects or become an architect yourself and design beautiful homes. If you have a love for it, you will be great at it!

There will be times that a client might get a little annoying. That's going to be the case in almost any industry you go into, but, they don't have to ruin all of the hard work you will be putting into making this your career (if that's what you choose). Learning how to be good at customer service is really important for all of us. Maybe one of your first jobs might be working in a convenience store or a restaurant. Those jobs really teach young people about all of the different personalities that are out there. I believe a company like Starbucks puts a lot of effort into making sure their employees are trained to deal with all of the good and challenging personalities that a customer service representative will have to deal with.

Don't let anyone make you hate your job - especially with all the work you put into getting there. You have that power and it's yours to keep!

All the best to you,
Phyllis
