Biology major with a minor in chemistry. Science is hard it is all about foundations. Learning the very basic ideas is the most important part to learn. You can do this through things like Khan academy. Most of the concepts will continue to repeat and grow with time. So starting out I would watch videos on Khan academy or youtube for basic concepts then grow. If things are still confusing after that discuss with your teacher to pick up pieces you are struggling with. If you work well with others you can create a study group and quiz each other. Lastly science is all about practice. If you have quiz questions in your book solve them. If you get something wrong use that as a guide to what you need to learn. Missing questions can be frustrating, but if you use them to learn you can truly understand concepts you struggle with.

Hello, KJ !
I would be happy to help you with this because this situation has all visited us at one time or another. There are several things you can do, but never stop asking questions about it. Although I am not sure if you are in high school or college with this situation, I will provide some tips that I hope will help.
First, you must take care of the way you take notes in class. If you're not sure what points are important, ask your teacher for help and to clearly point out to you and the class what you should focus on when learning a new chapter. Keep notes and write down what you believe is important and after a while, you almost will feel like you are transcribing your teacher's words. It does get easier with practice.
Study the material a little every day. Than, once a week re-read the chapter. This can be a way that you pace yourself and jog your memory of the material. Have a friend or family quiz you, ask you the questions and see how you do. If you miss some information, spend some time reviewing that portion of the information. Learning is not memorizing, rather learning is understanding. Understand the concept, cause and effect and terms of things you learn about. This will help you retain the information and it will seem logical to you.
Another thing you could possibly do is find a study group in school. As for the math, perhaps a tutor could be of assistance.
I hope some of these tips are useful for you and I wish you all the best. We have all been in this situation at one time or another with various subjects so it is not unusual.
