I’ve found that many people graduate from college and start looking for work: which feels right, but can also put you behind. I am a big believer in networking and looking to connect with others (proactively) so you can build referrals and your network.
If you are in a position to find internships, volunteer or even join clubs/associations, you can put yourself in a better spot. This is a good thing to think through prior to simply being thrown into the job market.

Hello Isha,
College is a transformative journey that extends beyond academics, shaping your future in numerous ways. It acts as a training ground for mastering essential life skills such as independence, time management, and communication. It's a unique phase where you're the captain of your ship, steering your course without anyone monitoring your every move. This newfound self-sufficiency will be an empowering learning experience!
Moreover, college provides an excellent platform to build your network. The sooner you immerse yourself in social activities and connect with diverse individuals, the more enriched your college experience will be, setting you up for success upon graduation.
Remember, amidst all this, it's crucial to enjoy the journey! Time in college tends to zoom by, so make the most of it. I have no doubt that you're going to excel and make these years count!

Hello, Isha !
To answer your question, college does greatly affect your future life. It does in ways that you may not expect.
One of the ways is that while you are in college, you have learned how to communicate. You have obtained, sharpened and improved your verbal and written skills through the writing demand as well as giving oral presentations and participating in group discussions. This will carry you through the rest of your life.
Yes, you must consider the labor market for your major. It is a choice one has to think about : do I stay where I studied or do I move, even if it's just for a change in environment. I was someone that had to move to a place that had opportunities for me based on my major. I had already had it as a long term goal my first semester of college, so I knew I would eventually have to go to either of two major cities to start my career. I did start looking for a job right away, but it took a few months before it happened. Sometimes the type of work you want to go into almost dictates what your plan will be once you graduate.
College also affects one's life in a unique way that you will always feel that your were part of something special. Being an alumnus never leaves you. Than again, the college experience is not the same for everyone.
If you are wondering about your future, look at where your current interests and activities are leading to. The future is so unpredictable but we must strive for what and where we think we should be.
I hope this helps in thinking about your future plans and I wish you all the best !
