A good starting place is to look at the alumni at your school to see who is working in a career/company you would like to have or are interested in possibly getting there one day. Networking is one of the most important and best way to get where you need to go in your career. The people you network with not only have possible connections for you, but also the best advice for your career field.
Next, I would look into internships/student programs or early careers on the companies job posting board. Sometimes companies have this option and it is tailored for students.
Finally, I would gain as much experience as possible. Even just volunteering at hospitals, nursing homes, homeless shelters that need medical help, etc. Any experience is good experience.
Best of luck!

Best option is to gain local, full time experience first. Most reputable agencies won't hire you without a minimum of 1-3 years experience first. You have to get your feet wet, get a solid knowledge base, then start looking for a travel agency that is reputable and offers what and where you are looking for! Money, benefits, housing, locations, bonuses, promised hours, certifications, specializations, etc. It doesn't matter your degree, what matters is experience, performance, certifications relevant to area, skills, dependability. Gain those and you'll be traveling everywhere your heart desires in no time! Companies don't automatically hire you through traveling either, they will take one with more experience or potential to convert to full time status.
Research travel nurse agencies
Nursing Experience
Nursing foundation
Dependibility
Work ethic

Once done you should do a Internship in which hopefully they hire you on fulltime. I know that several offices hire interns if they are really good. If they do not you would just need to apply apply apply for positions. Maybe go through a Temp service that would be a very good start as well. I hope that this helps you.

I can't speak to finding a full time job after college but I do recruit medical staffing professionals so can speak to the travel aspect.
Most travel agencies require a minimum of 1.5-2 years of paid experience. Once you are in a full time role I would connect with travelers within your hospital to find out what agencies they like working with and why. I suggest working with a couple of different agencies as each one will have access to different jobs. Once you have found a couple of agencies you would like to work with they will do the leg work to find the jobs for you but it is important for you to ask questions about the company, the process and having a sense of urgency as travel positions come and go quickly.
I staff imaging modalities so I'm not knowledgeable about specific requirements for nursing but if you have any additional questions about travel medical staffing I'd be happy to answer those. Best of luck!
