Keyston’s Answer
Starting in the acting industry, I'd say passion and persistence matter most. Join local theater groups to build your skills and confidence. As for kids, encourage them to embrace their talents early, take acting classes, and never stop learning. It's a journey.

Happiness’s Answer
To embark on your journey in the acting industry, one of the initial steps is to affirm your passion. Ask yourself, is this truly my calling? Your enthusiasm is the spark that will ignite your career and fuel your persistence.
In addition to passion, honing your skills is crucial. Engage in acting classes and seize every opportunity to participate in acting events at school, church, and other venues. Some producers offer budding actors the chance to work on a pro bono basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and build your portfolio, so don't hesitate to explore this avenue.
Under the guidance of your parents, start making your presence felt at auditions. This is an excellent platform to land acting roles.
Become a part of acting clubs and online communities like Facebook groups that cater to your age group and share your interests. Immerse yourself in learning and absorb as much knowledge as you can. Your journey in acting is a thrilling adventure, so embrace every moment of it!

Hello, Angelina !
I am very happy to give you some advice on what goes into an acting career. All of the advice I mention should be read and approved by your parents.
I am not sure what grade you are in but I will say start trying out for all plays at your school. If you are an actor with no experience and ace an audition, you will actually learn a lot by being in a play. That is what the director is for. Do not hesitate to watch or read about acting in the meantime.
The acting profession does not require a college degree, but my best advice, if you are serious about a good quality career, you should at least get your Bachelors degree in Theatre or Film. Guess what ? You are in New York, NY so the town is your oyster ! You have some of the best acting schools right there, namely, in my opinion, HB Studio. But for children, I found this awesome article from Time Out that lists acting classes for kids ! I am providing a link to it below. I would also suggest joining your school's drama club and if acting is currently offered at your school, take advantage of the most offered in those classes.
During your time at on-site acting classes, your parent will be consulted about any additional opportunities that may arise. Everything should go through your parents at this young age. Continue this all throughout high school and than in about your junior year, start looking for colleges that you'd like to attend. My suggestion is to stay there in New York City and take an academic route. You will need to learn a lot about performing and tech. If you get at least a B.A. degree, that will open doors for you as a professional. It is well worth it.
When you graduate college, you have a choice to either stay in New York City or move to Los Angeles. That would be based on what you feel comfortable doing at the time.
So, how you get started in acting is with lots of performing experience and a good education. As you go along, your instructors and directors will advise you on such needed items as photos and resumes as well as agency representation and you will soon learn what union membership means.
I hope this has been helpful and I wish you all the best in your acting and pursuit of your education and career !
