It might be that instead of having to directly work with people, you can work to become an influencer who just creates content on a blog, site, social media channel, or email newsletter to help people make their own decisions about makeup.

Look up the book From Paycheck to Purpose and see if it sparks ideas.

Talia’s Answer

I do not like working with people, either! I found I was much happier when I left a career that emphasized a great deal of social interaction. There are many opportunities in the cosmo industry don't require you to have to socialize all day. I suggest searching for remote jobs to get an idea of what is out there. Perhaps you'd like to write online content about the industry. Perhaps you'd like to help with marketing efforts. You could even have your own website and blog focused on the industry and make money that way.

Hey there, Abreezy!

Let's talk about the exciting world of cosmetics for those who prefer a fast-paced environment.

The beauty industry is a fantastic place for folks who don't like to sit still. Why? Well, it's always on the move, with new products and trends popping up all the time. This keeps things fresh and exciting, so there's no chance of getting bored. Plus, there are so many different roles to choose from, you're bound to find something that matches your skills and passions. Whether you're into creating new products, marketing, or selling directly to customers, there's a place for you.

Now, if you love makeup but aren't a big fan of socializing, don't worry. There are plenty of jobs in the cosmetics industry that might suit you. You could work on developing new products, or maybe you'd prefer a behind-the-scenes role in marketing or branding. These positions often involve less customer interaction. And with the boom of online shopping and beauty platforms, there are even roles that require minimal face-to-face contact.

Remember, though, while the beauty industry can be a great place for those with a need for speed, it's important to think about other aspects too. Things like job satisfaction, work-life balance, and long-term career goals are all crucial to consider when deciding if it's the right fit for you.

May you be blessed abundantly!

Hello, Abreezy !

What a most interesting question you have asked and I would like to assist with some advice about the hair and makeup industry.

All is not lost ! You've described yourself clearly and it is very good to have self-awareness because it can help you avoid choices that wouldn't benefit you. Since you are concerned about lack of patience, tension, moodiness I have to advise you that the hair and make up field is probably not going to be where you'll best be suited. That industry is extremely people oriented, very hands on tactile with the customers. If you are physically touching people in your work, it does require the utmost patience, calm and good-natured mood with every single person whether they are adult clients or children.

That being said, there is something I would like to suggest that you look into. How about a career creating cosmetics and hair care products ? You can also find out about becoming a wig maker ! You can go to your local beauty supply shops and tell them you'd like to know who to contact for information. As for the toiletries, perfume, etc. there are numerous websites that teach about how to create and you can than sell your products. Build a website and you never know, in the future you may be the owner of a shop with awesome products carrying your own special brand.

I wouldn't say stop doing hair on the side, but maybe for people who already know you, family, friends. People who you enjoy and those who appreciate you.

If you go to cosmetology school, you will have to have a tolerance for constructive criticism and complaining sometimes by clients. If you eventually think that you can be neutral about this, than go into cosmetology, but do it when you feel the time is right. It is a field in which there is constant interaction with people and working with people of various abilities and backgrounds.

Best wishes on your decisions and I hope my suggestions prove to be useful for you !

Judith-Ann’s Answer

Hello, Abreezy, You have a fascinating name as well as a fascinating question. I understand annoying people and I, too, can become quite annoyed by certain people by the way they communicate, by the way they live, by the way they waste, by the way they think. I mean really, anyone can be irritating at any given moment. Some people are introverts and get their energy by going within, by being soulful, by taking quiet time. Some people are extroverts and need people interaction to get energy. If you are feeling like people annoy you, take some time to examine why. The answer may be something about you. Or the answer may be that you need to work in an environment which doesn't involve direct contact with people. Since you like the cosmetic industry, perhaps you could find a research lab or a technical writing business about cosmetics. If you really like the artistry of makeup, you might need to work on your involvement with people and how to enjoy them. I am glad you can be honest about your likes and dislikes. Honesty like that will always take you in the right direction for you. Best of luck to you.
