How can I get involved playing music for a circus troop?
I am 16 and am a musician. Pretty recently I got to see the Circ de Cele (definitely spelled that wrong) perform and I think it would be so cool to be a pit musician for something similar. Any professionals have any advice for finding those opportunities?

Hello, Madeline !
I find your question both fun and delightful and would like to give you some advice even though I am not a musician.
Cirque Du Sole has a wonderful website that has a section for their job openings. I will provide the link to it below, but scroll down all the way down to the bottom of that page and you'll see the positions they are hiring for. My suggestion is, that since you are still in high school, apply for a part time job with them doing anything (for right now) - ideal would be something remote maybe with tickets, so that they can get to know you and you'd already be an employee. I am not so certain that they hire teenagers for their orchestra, but it is worth inquiring about.
In the meantime, make videos and audio files of your music and keep practicing. Do any concerts or recitals or even play for a musical play production at your school to build up a resume. Inquire if you need agent representation in order to be one of their musicians. You would have a great start if you start out getting to know them in all capacities and learn how things operate at Cirque Du Sole.
Another thing is that they are constantly on tour, so that would have to fit your plans, too. Just so you know, their headquarters is located in Montreal in the borough of Saint-Michel in Canada. You can see all their phone numbers at different locations at a link I provided below. You just never know what can happen by exploring possible opportunities.
I wish you all the best with this most creative and entertaining venture !
