Dear Saloni,
I’d be happy to provide information on the field of Architecture.
What is Architecture? Architecture is both an art and a science that involves the design and construction of buildings and other physical structures. It requires the use of space, materials, and form to create functional and aesthetically pleasing environments for people to live, work, and play in. The practice of architecture is employed to fulfill both practical and expressive requirements, thus serving both utilitarian and aesthetic ends.
Pathway to Become an Architect:
Earn Your Architecture Bachelor’s Degree: This is the first step towards becoming an architect.
Complete an Internship: Gaining practical experience is crucial in this field.
Become Certified and Licensed: You must pass a national exam known as the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) to become a licensed architect.
Earn Your Master’s Degree: While not always necessary, a master’s degree in architecture can open up more career opportunities.
Career Paths in Architecture:
Landscape Architect: Designing outdoor landscapes, including infrastructure, public areas, agriculture, and forestry.
Urban Planner: Managing the conditions of urbanism which are constantly in a state of flux due to rapid urbanization.
Restoration Architect: Working on the conservation and restoration of buildings.
Research Architect: Focusing on how new tools can enhance architectural work.
Remember, architecture is a broad field with many different facets. It’s not just about designing buildings - it’s about understanding how those buildings fit into their environment and serve the people who use them. It requires a combination of creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills. Good luck with your journey into the world of architecture! 😊

Hello, Saloni !
Your career plans sound very exciting ! I would like to offer some advice and assist you with your question.
To begin with, in India, you would be pursuing a Bachelor in Architecture Degree. To be admitted into a college for this degree, you would have to take and pass the NATA and JEE entrance exams. Pick a college that you'd like to enroll in. The course of study for you would be for five years and you would have an exam at the end of each year to advance you to the next year. After you graduate with your degree, you are now ready to be registered with the Council of Architecture (CoA). To work as a professional architect in your country, you must get your name into the register and than you can apply for jobs.
I would like to mention that while you are enrolled in college, your instructors will actually go through all of the exact information and nuances you will need as you go along. I would like to mention some good schools to look into. Some of the best ones are : Indian Institute of Technology, National Institute of Technology, School of Planning and Architecture, CEPT University, and many others .
I hope that this has been helpful for you and I wish you all the best with starting your education in architecture !
