Paul’s Answer

Since business is a social science, it is heavily laden with social science courses. This means classes in economics, psychology, and business math.

You can also expect courses in upper level business math and accounting.

You cannot avoid these courses, they are pretty universal no matter where you go.

There are normally supplemental study groups on campus, that can be helpful. I would seek these out, if you run into difficulty.

Academic assistance and tutorial centers can also be helpful.

Rob’s Answer

To get a business degree, you'll need to find a college or university that offers the level of degree you're looking for. Degree types range from Associate's degrees from community colleges all the way up to PhDs. Business is a very generic term and a degree usually includes specialization in some aspect of business such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Management of Information Systems, Operations Management, etc. As an undergrad, you would typically choose your focus area after completing introductory coursework in the fundamentals.

Dhimant’s Answer

Here's a bit of friendly advice to guide you on your educational journey. It's crucial to choose a degree that genuinely sparks your interest.

When considering business schools, there are a few key points to remember.

1) The most prestigious business schools are highly competitive, attracting candidates with impressive GMAT scores.

2) On the other hand, gaining admission to a less renowned business school might be simpler, and they might even offer scholarships.

The choice is entirely in your hands. If your goal is simply to earn a business degree, a less known or local school could be a perfect fit. However, if you're aiming to gain valuable experience and establish strong ties with a vast alumni network, a top-tier business school would be the way to go. Remember, it's all about finding the path that best suits you.

Michelle’s Answer

Hello, Cody !

A Business degree is so useful in very many ways and I would be happy to run a few things by you for you to consider !

According to My Degree Guide website, there are about 25 different types of Business degrees that you can get. I will leave the link to the list of these types below. You can either get your degree in person at a school or remotely on line. It is a very marketable degree and the career usually pays well. I advise thinking about which type of business degree you would like before starting out to choose a college.

You also should consider whether to get your Bachelors Degree or an MBA Degree. The Bachelors degree provides a broad business foundation while the Masters level degree is most recognized and desirable. So, if at all possible, I would consider getting the Master in Business Administration in order to increase your possibility of a higher level job and higher salary.

A degree in business transfers over to so many different types of work so this is truly a worthwhile interest that you have. I wish you all the best in your studies !
