Hello Asaundra! Work life balance in business management or almost* any other industry/role might be variable and account on many factors. The country regulations (ie. France may have non after hours work emails allowed), company you choose, the stage of professional path you are in (ie. Some entry roles might have variable work hours while some high senior roles might need you to be available if needed).
Yet a good amount of business management roles might require week day, 9-5 ish type of work.
*Other industries might not be so oriented for work/life balance (ie. Doctor, hospitality (ie. Hotels, cruises)

Hello,
The balance between your work and personal life can greatly vary, depending on your chosen career, your employer, and your specific role. However, the majority of companies and organizations prioritize their employees' well-being by offering a favorable work/life balance. This usually includes vacation time for rest and rejuvenation, and a standard work schedule that typically doesn't exceed 8-9 hours a day, 5 days a week.
I've had the good fortune of working for excellent companies that respect personal time and don't frequently demand overtime or weekend work. The added bonus for me has been the opportunity to work remotely, which I find particularly enjoyable.
Wishing you the best of luck in finding a work environment that suits you perfectly!

In the state I ran a business in, employees needed to be paid overtime if they worked more than 12 hours in 24. With all the work that went into my roles and positions, I used to wonder how often I would run into overtime like that, but I was a little surprised that I never had a workday that long. Some people seem to say they have to work very long hours as they have a demanding job, but I do think many people also may not have the skills or training or something to keep a work life balance if that is the case very often. And there are people who choose to work crazy amounts of their life like that because their own personal dreams involve making a business empire or making tons of money; but my biggest dreams in life don't relate to my career, and it's well known that beyond a certain amount of money made a year, even if life could be made more comfortable for a family with more money, earning beyond that certain amount doesn't correlate to more happiness--and may correlate to more stress and stress-related disease. So I would say a person should cultivate some dreams that aren't about work and salary, so that you have a reason to put down your work after the workday hours that you are committed to, and then it will be easier to put time into something else, because you know what you're looking toward.

Hi Asaundra. That is a great question. Personal life is very important. You don't have to choose a career over having a life. Certain jobs take more time, that's for sure, but some jobs and companies certainly ensure their employees have the work / life balance that is necessary.
Personal relationships are super important and keeping them healthy takes time. It's a perfectly good question to ask during the interview process. Company culture plays a big role in this and if this is something that you are concerned about, make sure you do your research and get those answers. You are interviewing the company just as much as they are interviewing you!
