Technical school or college?

Is technical school better than college? If so, do you have to write an essay application? I've been looking into it but I wanna know from other people.

I don't think one is better than the other. It's really going to depend on what you want to do as a career and how long you want to spend in school. You can be very successful going either route. Technical school is less expensive and the programs are generally shorter than getting a 4 year college degree. Think about what you can see yourself doing everyday, something that you enjoy doing and go from there.

Dr. Sishir’s Answer

If you want to get more focus in works and technologies and more practical based learning which directly links you to your real life carrier, Technical schools are suitable with you.
Along with practical knowledge if you want to get more internationally authorised degrees along with theoretical knowledge then you can join to colleges too...
It's up to you to chose right way suitable for you 🙂

Justin’s Answer

I attended Mississippi State University with a BS degree. While I am extremely thankful that I was able to accomplish that, the older I get, the more I wish I had chosen a Vocational school. Not only would I have learned a trade to benefit myself and countless others, it most likely would have been a fraction of the cost. If there is any trade that you find interesting, I would suggest learning all you can about it and seeing if a "shadow" opportunity is available to you.

Good luck in all that you do!

Alan’s Answer

Kaitlyn, the question isn't what's better, it's what's better for you. It probably is easier to apply to a technical school. But is easier always better? If you have a particular trade in mind, say becoming an auto mechanic, electrician, cosmetologist or dental hygienist, etc., then trade school would make sense. But I just get the feeling that your question is coming more out of fear than desire. College would offer you a much wider range of choices that would be much more likely to fulfill your highest potential. Believe in yourself. You can get tips and help in writing a good essay. Don't limit yourself unless you have a specific career that is best prepared for by a trade school in mind.
