Dear Tony,
That’s a great goal! Here are some steps to help you prepare for a professional career in baseball:
Training: Training daily in baseball-related activities, whether in a team practice or on your own, is crucial to developing your skills. A personal coach specific to your position can help improve your skills and keep you focused.
Education: Understanding the history of the game and getting an understanding helps. It’s recommended to read books like “The New Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract” which provides a comprehensive history of baseball.
Exposure: Players begin to achieve exposure from MLB franchises in secondary school programs. You may attend tryout camps where you will be judged on a variety of physical traits as well as overall performance.
MLB Draft: Following the conclusion of camp, you may be taken by a team in the MLB draft in June.
Physical Fitness: Maintaining physical fitness is key. Regular workouts and a healthy diet will help you stay in top shape for the game.
Mental Toughness: Baseball requires mental toughness and strategic thinking. Working on these aspects can give you an edge.
Play the Game: The more you play, the better you’ll get. Join a local league or play with friends to gain experience.
Remember, becoming a professional athlete takes time, dedication, and patience. Keep practicing, stay focused on your goal, and most importantly, enjoy the game! Good luck! 😊

Hello,
Most professionals athletes started working on their current profession at a young age. Developing skill set and becoming stronger as each individual gets older. Every professional athlete works on their craft and has a routine that is done on a consistent basis. Hard work and discipline is key when wanting to become a professional in any sport.
