How much does it generally cost for colleges in the US?
I know I'm a couple years away before college but I'm just curious and want an adults intake on this. And whether a 4 year or two college is better. And as an adult deciding to finish school.

Hi Zara!
The cost of college in the US varies a lot depending on the type of college or university that you plan to attend. Thankfully, there are a lot of options to make college affordable for most students!
The cheapest option is to start at a community college, and earn either an AS degree (which may allow you to start working after two years) or an AA degree (which you should be able to transfer to a four year college).
To answer your question on whether a 2 or 4 year college is better, I would say it definitely depends on your career goals. To give an example, I will focus on my major of accounting. I had the option to either earn a 2 year AS degree in accounting that would allow me start working once I completed. However, if I chose this option I would likely only qualify for lower level accounting jobs such as accounting clerk. Now, this is definitely a suitable career! However, I wanted to become a CPA in my career, so I decided to go to a 4 year college to earn my Bachelor's degree. So, a 2 year college can definitely get you into the industry of your choice. However, a 4 year college will help you qualify for a higher paying job once you graduate.
If you start planning early, you don't have to let the price of college steer you away from your favorite colleges. There is a plethora of scholarships out there that can make the price of college for affordable!
I hope that this answer has been helpful, and I wish you all the best!
