Miranda,
It looks like you're interested in mental health and psychology. I worked as a psychiatric nurse technician before becoming a PA, and my observation is that psychiatric technicians most commonly work on inpatient facilities such as long-term care facilities and behavioural units (aka inpatient psychiatry) in hospitals. I'm not sure what your long-term educational or career goals are, but I've seen some employers willing and able to train new employees with a high school diploma on the job, whereas some others may have specific requirements for application and employment, so I would look up the requirements of the place(s) you're interested in and use them as a guide.
Good luck!

Hello Miranda,
Education indeed plays a pivotal role.
For individuals aspiring to become psychiatric technicians, it's usually necessary to acquire a postsecondary certificate. This could be under various designations such as psychiatric technicians, behavioral health technicians, or titles of similar nature. You can find programs for these certificates or even associate's degrees at community colleges and technical schools. These programs are designed to equip students with fundamental nursing skills.
