Hi! When needing help in college, you can email your advisor assigned to you at the beginning of the semester. If you do not know who that is, you could email the dean or president of your college and they will be able to help you out. An advisor is assigned to help you with any questions you have and enroll you in courses.

Dear Lilly,
College serves two primary purposes:
1. Deepening Knowledge: College provides an opportunity to delve deeper into various subjects beyond what is taught in high school. It offers an education that covers a broad spectrum of life aspects, historical events, and cultural nuances. College learning isn't just about reading and passing exams, it's a unique period in your life when you can intensely focus on expanding your knowledge on a wide range of topics. This broad knowledge base equips you to handle diverse challenges in life. For instance, studying how Abraham Lincoln tackled the issue of slavery might inspire you to bravely stand for what you believe in, even if it's an unpopular opinion. Thus, college education, particularly historical lessons, prepares you to better navigate life's hurdles.
2. Earning a Degree: A college degree is a tangible proof of your acquired knowledge. It signals to potential employers that you possess a certain level of expertise in your field of study, and are ready to embark on a professional career. While attending college without earning a degree still enriches you with knowledge, having a degree lends credibility to your learning. It also demonstrates your ability to persevere and complete challenging tasks, a trait highly valued by employers. They want assurance that you can handle and complete difficult assignments.
Best of luck!
