Hi Tayvian,
I’m Katie, a licensed cosmetologist with two years of experience as an esthetician in Florida. I’m also a small business owner of a mobile spa.
To answer your question fully, it depends on your working status, demographics, and services offered. For example, is the position part time or full time? 25 hours per week or 40-45 hours per week? Are you paid hourly or commission or both along with tips? Are you booth renting? How many clients do you have per week? For demographics, are you working in an urban environment or in a more suburban environment? Is where you plan to work located near other stores / malls or is it more isolated? For services, if you plan to specialize in a treatment, that’ll raise the cost of the service. That also gets averaged based on your demographics. Also, are you charging based on your time or by the service itself?
I say all this to say that in Florida, the average is around $45k - $50k. But you can earn upwards of $75k per year. If you’re a spa or salon owner, you can hit 100k depending on the services.
I hope this helps
