Isack, one of the challenges, which can also be fun, is making your own decisions about what classes to take and setting your own goals for the future. College will be a lot less challenging, though, if between now and then you work on things like making decisions, being organized, managing your time productively, learning to think for yourself, and developing good writing skills. In terms of fun, your classes can be more enjoyable if you're taking those that are in the field in which you're interested. But there are also clubs, activities, sports and the freedom to socialize more. You might have larger classes than you're used to and less "hand holding," so you'll have to learn to take good notes, read on your own, study effectively and take yourself seriously as a student and adult. But it's all meant to lead you somewhere, to your desired goals in life.

Hi Isack!
You are asking an excellent questions! I would say that middle school is the perfect time to start thinking about your future goals and aspirations. Going to college for the first time can be your opportunity travel for the first time, mange your own living space for the first time, and start building your career with the help of the college you chose. Basically, there are plenty of opportunities!
No matter what you decide, going to college for the first time will probably feel like a new sense of freedom. Hopefully, the college you are attending is one that you researched and selected to be the best option for you. I would actually recommend starting to browse college that have programs you are interested in, you can make a list of your favorite colleges and research what life is like for freshman at each of them. That can help you picture what it may be like for you if you choose to attend.
Another way to think of college: it is practically the beginning of learning to live as an adult. Thankfully, there are plenty of programs and resources designed to help you before and during your college experience!
I wish you all the best!

Hey Isack,
College can at first be a bit overwhelming. There are so many people, resources, and things to do. So the first challenge I would say is being able to overcome the initial state of shock for a lot of people as they've never experienced something quite like that first week of college. The second would be adjusting to a new life. You're kind of on your own without parents, and often previous friends which can be a little intimidating as you're out of your comfort zone. The 3rd challenge I would say is finding your way through all of the changes in your life at that moment. Such as being away from home, finding new friend groups and clubs to be a part of, what to major in. It can feel like a lot to sort out and you won't always succeed at making those decisions quickly. That said those are also some of the most fun parts about college. Meeting new people, joining new and interesting clubs, taking classes that you find interesting even if it's not a part of your major. You get to learn a lot about yourself that first semester to first year which for some even means finding out college may or may not be for them.
