The journey to a professional sports career often begins with a college career in that sport. So, it's not just about being a fantastic athlete, but also about being an exceptional student.
When it comes to sports, it's crucial to channel your passion into the sport you love. Practice as much as you can to hone your skills and become a standout talent.
As for academics, it's equally important to put in the effort and dedication. Study hard to ensure that a multitude of college opportunities are within your reach.

Hello, Kaden!
In order to go professional in sports - you have to (first and foremost) have a passion and love for a certain sport. As you asked this question, I am sure you got step 1 going for you! So, you are halfway there!
Step 2 would be you indulging in that sport fully, making it one of your absolute priorities and building a solid foundation. As someone who is an amateur MMA fighter, looking to go pro one day - I can tell you that the days you are most tired and your mind is telling you that you should skip it today, those are the days where you gotta push through and go train! Of course, you'll miss training here in there, but let it be your goal to reduce such things to minimum.
Step 3 is recovery. Make sure that first and foremost - you get enough good sleep. A solid 8 hour sleep is tremendous for your body and mind. Figure out which food you love to it the most and which gives you good feeling, like you have energy after it, then eliminate the ones that make your stomach feel not so well or make you feel tired or heavy.
Final step: Enjoy the process and you'll realize your goals one day.
Just stick to these basics and never let them leave your mind. Listen to your body and work to achieve your dreams!

Hi, Kaden,
I am not an athlete, but I live in an athletic family. One son played baseball in college and now works on a NASCAR race team.
My first question is what sport?
Our son always loved Nascar racing. He played baseball 1 semester and left college. He did odd jobs. When he was deciding school or Nascar, he called a team contact and turns out they needed a crew member. He got the job. However, it's pretty rare. Colleges and Tech schools have engineering or mechanic programs that are amazing---that Nascar looks at, as well!
To play a traditional pro sport (baseball, basketball, etc).....most likely you'll have to go to a Community College or 4 year college. (If you go to a Community College and play and have good grades, they partner with 4 year schools and many athletes transfer to the 4 year---if a really good player with good grades.) There are players that have been invited to colleges or pro, that played at a tech school. In addition, you want to play a sport at a certain school, yet, the school coach did not meet with you or express interest, go to that school and try and walk on.
btw....Nascar Crew members recruit athletes too. There is a lot of heavy lifting and moving---with speed.
I believe when you want to achieve something and you put all of your energy effort into it, you can do it! It can happen for YOU too!
