What if u not good at fashion but still want to learn? How can u get creative if u don't know how to express it? Why is picking a career young so easy but older so much pressure?
I'm in 9th grade so I have bit of time until I decide which career I want. I like how fashion can make u look and feel, I never felt clothing I'm comfortable wearing, since I was a kid because I didn't care what people thought. But now I do and the only type of clothing I feel somewhat comfortable is when clothing fit my body perfectly. I don't have any hobbies since I was homeschooled my whole middle school, and never went to any programs.

I got into fashion because I could not find anything that fit me or looked good on me in the stores. I learned how to sew and made my own clothes starting at age 12. I learned about how to make things fit and look good by doing it for myself. After several years of designing clothes I liked for myself that fit my look and my body shape, I was ready to work for a company designing their clothes that worked for lots of women.

If you get ideas but don’t know how to express them, the easiest way of expressing your designs is sketching. It’s a really basic skill to learn. You might prefer to draw by hand, or use any of the drawing apps, for example Sketchbook for iPad. You can start by drawing your own fashion figure template or purchase a PDF on Etsy.com. An example of such a listing is included below.
Once you get a template (it’s called a fashion croquis) you could try to dress the figure by following its outlines.
If you have a passion for fashion, you should know that there are many different professionals working as a team to create a line of clothing. Not everyone on that team is a designer. Someone searches for matching thread and buttons, for example, while someone else communicates with the factory workers to bring the technical details across.
Many people with different talents and abilities are working as a team to make it all happen. You can always find an occupation that’s a good fit for your talents, it just takes some time and practice to explore what are the talents you’ve got.
Good luck! I am hoping you’ll enjoy sketching your ideas!
