Do you have to work with young horses and get a saddle on them?

When working with young horses they can act up when putting the saddle on. And putting a saddle on and working with them on that can take a long time and a type of skill. I wanted to know if you work with young horses or if a different kind of person does. I was also wondering if it can take a very long time to get a saddle on a young horse.

Hello, Ava !

The answer to your question, yes, you'll have to work a long time with the horse. I do not break horses, however you can do it yourself after reading up on the best ways to do it. It can take a long time and one must have a lot of patience. I think the horse freaks out because the saddle probably feels unnatural plus there's this new pressure that the horse isn't used to. It's almost like when dogs wear shoes for the first time, they act funny. It's hard to say how long it would take because all horses are different, but it's best to take your time with this and use a gentle approach.

I am sure that there are copious other videos showing people breaking horses but I left just one video for you to watch in a link below. I advise wearing a helmet, not a baseball cap like the guy in the video. You will see how it is with this one instance and what one can expect. I would urge you to definitely follow up with this by looking the subject up on line or getting how to books.

To start out, I would try it yourself and see how it goes. If you are an experienced rider, you will know what to do and what protective gear you should wear. The horse will feel disoriented sort of and uncomfortable and sometimes throw the person, too. So try it yourself and if it's not doable, you can hire someone to do it - but that may end up being very expensive.

I hope that this has helped a little and I wish you all the best !
