The History channel, Story Television and public tv documentaries are a very good source of information and engagement, especially if they are related to family history or ethnicity.
My descendants fought in the Civil War, and every time a documentary appears, featuring a battle they participated in, I find it impossible to tear myself away from it.
This also leads to long and interesting discussions with the older members of the family, who are usually the primary sources of these historical stories.
