Hi Jasharee,
On your college application in the activities section, put down the extracurricular activities that you found most fulfilling or showcase who you are as a person. This can be clubs, sports, any sort of volunteering, or even hobbies. I'd pick things that you enjoy doing and don't feel forced to do. By showcasing who you are through your activities, colleges can get a better sense of your personality and if you'll be a good fit for their school.
Best of luck to you!

In your college application, it's crucial to highlight all your unique strengths and attributes. Use this chance to share your story, including all the impressive achievements you've made so far in your journey. Don't forget to mention your dreams and how enrolling in that particular college can help you fulfill them. Also, outline your plans on how you intend to contribute back to the institution once you've earned your degree.

Your college applications should highlight your strengths and passions. Include your academic achievements like grades, test scores, and any honors or awards you've received. Also, showcase your extracurricular activities, such as sports, clubs, volunteering, or any leadership roles you've taken on. Don't forget to mention any unique hobbies or projects you're involved in. Colleges also appreciate personal statements where you can express yourself, talk about your aspirations, challenges you've faced, and what you've learned from them. Lastly, strong recommendation letters from teachers or mentors who know you well can add weight to your application. Overall, it's about presenting a well-rounded picture of who you are and what you're passionate about beyond just academics.

Good question, Jasharee. Many colleges in the United States accept the Common Application, which has a place to list your extra-curricular activities and 7 prompts for your personal essay (you pick one). If the college you're applying to has supplements, such as asking why you are interested in their school or a particular major, they will also be on the Common Application site. So you will have guidance about what to include.
To prepare for applying to college:
- take the most challenging academic program that you feel comfortable with
- pick a few extra curriculars that truly interest you (could be sports, clubs, work, etc.) where you could show growing skill and/or leadership
- think about the teachers you feel a connection with and keep them in mind for recommendations
- pull together a resume (Common Application can guide here, too) that you may either submit or use in an interview
Your school guidance counselor should also be able to help you. Good luck!
