What education and training do I need to be a criminal psychologist?

I've always been fascinated by the minds of murderers and criminals and it's my dream job to work with them and be a criminal psychologist. I'm in high school, and I want to start looking at the best colleges to study criminal psychology at early-ish.

You want to look for “Forensic Psychology,” not criminal psychology.

Hi Ruby.

This is a great field and very exciting if you like that sort of thing. I too find the criminal mind fascinating as to what makes them tick.

In order to be in a place to have a degree in this field, criminal justice and psychology are going to be major factors and the level of degree depends on what exactly it is that you want to do with it. Do you want to be in the field working to help solve mysteries, do you want to work in the prison systems with criminals or do you want to be more on the forensic side of things. These are things that would determine the level of education you would need to get there.
