Hi Addison!

It depends on your university, but for most you do not get to choose. You can request a certain school or mentor teacher, but it is not promised that you will get it. You can also make requests for grade, distance, and other factors. Although as I have experienced, these are not always taken into account.

Best of Luck!

Hi Addison - it's great that you are interested in education! I don't have personal experience with this, but policies seemed to vary by college/university. Generally, it seemed that you could list top choices or indicate specific needs, such as accessible by public transportation, but the school made the final choice. In general, most seemed to avoid sending student teachers to schools they had attended.
