What are some things that the MIT Admissions Department looks for?

I have read that MIT looks for many things in its applicants that aren’t spoken about, does anyone know a few of these?

There is an MIT Club of Chicago that I think you should look into. That would be a great opportunity for you to network and meet those current MIT students and get that insight. If you decide to attend one of their events, please make sure you bring a parent or guardian to accompany you. Hi Eva,

Hope all is well. One of the things which is looked for is community involvement in which it would be great if you can show a direct alignment towards your college/career goals. Additionally, MIT will look for the normal standards including a high GPA, recommendations, and they will review your high school transcript to see if you have taken advanced placement courses.
