There's a multitude of websites out there offering scholarships without the need for essays. Take niche.com for instance, they generously offer a $1,000 scholarship every month. These scholarships are highly sought after due to the ease of application, making them quite competitive. It's a good idea to reach out to your school and see if they have any scholarships available for you to apply for.
Additionally, don't shy away from scholarships that require essays. They may seem daunting, but they actually present a golden opportunity. Because fewer students apply for these, your chances of winning are significantly increased.
Remember, you don't have to go it alone. Seek guidance from a teacher, professor, or mentor who can assist you in shaping your ideas and reviewing your final work. While the essay must be your own creation, there's no harm in seeking advice. So go ahead, embrace the challenge and seize these opportunities!

Check with the college itself to see if they give out scholarships based on merit, need, or other factors. At the school I went to, there were several scholarships available only to people in our department. You may still have to write or create something to apply for them, but the requirements might be less strict and you would have fewer competitors than other scholarships.
Also keep in mind that no one is going to give away money "just because". Unfortunately the world doesn't work that way. You do have to show them that you are willing to use their gift/donation/investment wisely, and its hard to do that without having to write something. If you do end up writing some essays, remember to do your best, but still be yourself. Be honest and express what is important to you. Donors are more likely to feel a connection or want to help you specifically if they understand your story - not just a generic essay saying what you think they want to hear.
Good luck searching for scholarships, and remember that it's worth the effort!

Hello, Mahlijah !
Advisor Anna is on to something important ! Many colleges give their enrolled attending students at the particular college the opportunity for scholarships. Visit the campus you will be going to and inquire about which ones are essay and which ones aren't. But I see an issue here that you may need advice for. I will however, let you know that there are some no essay scholarships and I have left a link to the list below. You will need to look further into these scholarships and first see if you qualify. If you only want to do no essay applications, you will be greatly limiting your chances for scholarships.
I am wondering why you do not want to write an essay when you apply ? The truth is, you will be writing a lot, every year in college and you will sometimes need to pass a general ed test or writing proficiency test before or during college. In the University I went to, you could not obtain your Bachelors Degree until you passed a writing proficiency test, but all colleges are different. I would say based on my own experience, college was about 60% writing and can be more depending upon your major. I was in a predominantly performance major. But regardless of other people's experience, it will be best for you overall to enter college with writing skills. Take a creative writing class now, even if it is on line.
Begin making a portfolio of your art work now and try to obtain part time work doing something you like. You already realize not having a background is something you need to work on, so instead of depending on "not writing" because of a lack of experience, get the experience. It's okay if the volunteer work or employment is not in the art field. Look for leadership opportunities at your current school, too. There is also a GET scholarship for students in Texas for which I have a left a link for you below. Do research on all scholarships. The internet is rich with information and all you need to do is search on line for more resources.
I would also advise practicing writing an essay now. First read an informative article on the College Vine blog which is at the link I've provided below. The author gives sound advice and ideas that will help you feel more comfortable writing an essay having no experience, thus increasing your chances of obtaining scholarships. It's reassuring to know that you can still write your essay and cover a lot of ground with applications for financial assistance through scholarships.
Go for it all, without limitations, be creative and focus on the application process. Create a hard copy and online portfolio of your work and you're on your way ! It is a lot of work, yes, but very much to your benefit and worth the energy you put into it ! Best wishes !
