If I take a Gap Year before college, is it better to apply & accept to a college but delay my start date?
If I take a Gap Year, I've heard that I can still apply to college and accept but tell them I'm going to delay my start once I'm accepted. Is this the best way to go.

Good question. I would recommend not taking time off before college if you can avoid it. Delaying the start to college opens up the risk of not ever going back, and potentially delaying your career depending on what you want to do. You can always adjust your major when you are in even if you take a reduced class schedule, it would be best to continue on.

1. What are your reasons for
delaying college?
2. Finances - how will you pay for
college?
3. What are your hobbies, and career interests?
Be completely honest with your answers. All three questions are designed to help you plan and create a decisive academic and career foundation.
My advise: don't delay, your mind is fresh from your studies. Plus, college isn't high school. You can schedule your class load the way you want and there's always online courses. If you should decide to take a year off, make that year count! Save your money. Research colleges, talk to academic advisors, and look for employment opportunities in industries of interest. These are steps toward a well devised academic plan of action.
